Foam Academy Europe

From Monday, September 7 to Thursday, September 10, 2026, we will organize the second edition of Foam Academy Europe. Together with WILLIAMS Fire & Hazard Control and RelyOn Fire Academy, we offer a leading firefighting training program for professionals in high-risk industries such as oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

Recognised by IFE and JOIFF

Foam Academy Europe 2026 has now been officially recognised as an Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) event. Foam Academy Europe is co-organised with RelyOn Fire Academy and takes place at its facilities. RelyOn Fire Academy is a JOIFF-recognised training provider, ensuring the programme is delivered within a JOIFF-recognised training environment.

These recognitions confirm the professional quality, technical depth and practical relevance of the program and provide tangible benefits for participants operating in high-hazard industrial environments.

What do IFE and JOIFF recognition mean for you?

By attending Foam Academy Europe 2026, you can:

  • Earn up to 23 IFE-recognised CPD hours by attending all four days

  • Demonstrate continued professional development aligned with internationally recognised standards

  • Participate in a program that meets both IFE standards for technical accuracy and learning outcomes, and JOIFF standards for industrial relevance and emergency response practice

  • Strengthen your professional profile within industrial and high-hazard firefighting and emergency response environments

  • Gain assurance that the content is aligned with global best practices in industrial fire risk management

Foam Academy Europe

In collaboration with experts from Williams Fire & Hazard Control (USA), DNM Industrial Firefighting, and RelyOn Nutec Fire Academy, this four-day training delves into combating large-scale fire incidents. The program combines theoretical instruction with hands-on exercises across various operational scenarios, including fire dynamics, foam and dry chemical applications, and the logistics of firefighting.

A key component of the program is the use of fluorine-free foams. This innovative and environmentally friendly approach is explored both theoretically and practically, providing participants with directly applicable knowledge.

Program

In 2026, Foam Academy Europe once again offers a unique combination of in-depth theoretical knowledge provided by the Williams trainers and hands-on practical exercises at the RelyOn Fire Academy. The program has been fully updated, and participants can choose between a three-day or four-day training course

  • Monday, September 7: Theoretical sessions and foam laboratory

  • Tuesday, September 8: Theory, practical training, and demo day featuring a 9-meter tank fire extinguishing and a boil-over demonstration

  • Wednesday, September 9: Theoretical sessions

  • Thursday, September 10 (optional): Accredited Industrial Firefighting practical training, conducted by the trainers of RelyOn Fire Academy

Learning objectives

Through a mix of classroom sessions, case studies, and live fire exercises, participants gain in-depth insight into the key aspects of emergency response. The training focuses on understanding fire dynamics, applying advanced tactics, and effectively using environmentally friendly firefighting methods. In addition, participants learn to work with innovative foam types and extinguishing techniques, better preparing them to combat large-scale fire incidents in complex industrial environments.

Training focus areas:

  • The evolution of firefighting foam in the industry and the transition to fluorine-free foams

  • Application rates and densities tailored to different emergency scenarios

  • Logistics of large-scale incidents

  • Equipment applications, including:

    • Pump operations

    • Foam proportioning

    • Hose management and friction loss

    • End devices such as nozzles and monitors

  • Foam applications for:

    • Leaks and liquid spills

    • Liquid fires with significant depth or shallow surfaces

Costs

The participation fees for Foam Academy Europe are:

  • 3-day training (Monday to Wednesday): €2,850 incl. VAT

  • 4-day training (Monday to Thursday): €3,250 incl. VAT

This fee includes:

  • Transportation between the hotel and the training site

  • Transportation between the hotel and the restaurants for the evening program

  • Lunch, dinner, coffee/tea, and snacks during the training

Hotel accommodation

Hotel accommodation is at your own expense. This year, we have selected Badhotel Rockanje — an atmospheric hotel with a spacious meeting room, located close to RelyOn Fire Academy. The price per night is €135, including tourist tax. You can indicate in the registration form whether you would like to book accommodation at Badhotel Rockanje and for how many nights.

An official WILLIAMS Xtreme Event!

Williams Fire & Hazard Control has deployed equipment and specialists worldwide to nearly 300 industrial incidents, ranging from flammable and combustible liquids to pressurized gases. These incidents have occurred in diverse scenarios, including storage tanks, processing facilities, liquid and gas pipelines, offshore vessels, train derailments, and more.

With patented, custom-designed firefighting systems and mobile response technologies, Williams has been a global authority for over 40 years in tackling the most complex industrial emergencies. Each incident is unique, but common challenges include complex fire dynamics, logistical obstacles at the incident site, a wide range of response tactics utilizing systems and mobile resources, and effective methods for fire suppression and vapor mitigation.

For 33 years, Williams Fire & Hazard Control has shared lessons learned from its experiences through the annual “XTREME Industrial Fire & Hazard Training” in the U.S. Brent Gaspard states: "Williams Fire & Hazard Control is proud to recognize ‘Foam Academy Europe’ as an official ‘XTREME’ training for the European market."
